Arizona Central Credit Union Awards Scholarships Valued at $16,000 to Local High School Students
Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) August 11, 2007 -- Arizona Central Credit Union awarded two scholarships valued at $8,000 each to local high school students as part of its C.U. Succeed Scholarship Program.
Stephen Edwards, a 2007 graduate of Flagstaff High School, and Susie Bishara, a 2007 graduate of Thunderbird High School in Phoenix, were recognized for their outstanding scholastic and extra-curricular achievements with a luncheon ceremony and presentation at Arizona Central Credit Union's corporate offices.
"The caliber of the students that applied for the scholarships was truly outstanding, and Stephen and Susie were clearly at the top of the class," said David Kexel, Vice President of Marketing for Arizona Central Credit Union. "We're honored to be able to recognize these deserving students and help them to achieve their personal and professional goals."
Each student will receive $1,000 per semester to apply toward their educational expenses. The scholarships are renewable annually for up to four years, provided the student maintains certain academic standards.
Edwards plans on attending Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, majoring in Parks and Recreation and Fire Science. Bishara will be attending the University of Arizona in Tucson with plans to major in Family Studies and Human Development.
C.U. Succeed is Arizona Central Credit Union's savings program for teens 13-17 years old. The program includes educational materials, newsletters, a website, and low-cost financial services designed to help teens learn the importance of sound money management.
