Veteran South Florida Photographer Dedicates Herself to Quinceañera Celebrations
Miami-Fort Lauderdale-Palm Beach (PRWEB) August 23, 2007 -- "A quinceañera (sweet 16) is something special, and it needs a special photographer" -- those are the words of Luciana Unsworth, a South Florida photographer known for the richness of her images and the beauty of her composition.
And Luciana ought to know: in conjunction with her ongoing career photographing celebrity comics for the Improv Comedy Clubs of South Florida, she is currently expanding her market base into the Hispanic community serving Quince Girl celebrations and family photography.
In fact, she is one of few photographers currently focused exclusively on the growing trend of Quinceañera or quince celebrations. "As an Argentine/Peruvian-American, I am in tune with my Latino heritage and culture," says Luciana. "I understand the importance of the quinceañera celebration -- to family, to friends and to the young lady herself. I know how to capture the details of this singular moment -- the emotion, the tears, the pure joy -- memories that will last the family a lifetime."
In the life of a Latino girl and her family, the quinceañera celebration holds an importance second only to that of a wedding. "There is so much planning and financial investments involved, you wouldn't hire just anyone to photograph a wedding," says Luciana. "Well, for the same reasons, if you think about it, you wouldn't hire just anyone to photograph a quinceañera. You need someone who's attuned to the culture and to the many details of this important event -- and that's why I've chosen to focus on the Quince Girl and her family."
Luciana's clients affirm that she truly understands her subjects and the context of the situation. "Luciana was able to capture our ceremony beautifully without ever interfering in any way," says Lisa O'Brien. "She shot all the big stuff and also a lot of little moments too that we wouldn't even have known about if she hadn't noticed them. Her work is beautiful."
Hispanic-Americans are one of the fastest-growing economic markets in the U.S. According to the Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies, based in McLean, Virginia, about 42 million U.S. Hispanics have a have a buying power of about $900 billion per year.
