ABCTE to Host Orlando Teacher Recruitment Fair
Orlando, FL (PRWEB) February 12, 2008 -- The American Board for Certification of Teacher Excellence (ABCTE) (www.abcte.org) is hosting a teacher recruitment fair for professionals who want to change careers and teach in Florida.
"There are already 560 professionals and teachers on temporary certificates in Florida who have enrolled in ABCTE's Passport to Teaching program and 200 who have completed the program. Because the program is designed for busy professionals, it is affordable and flexible. We hope to see many more professionals who want to transition into teaching at the recruitment events," said David W. Saba, president of ABCTE.

Candidates for Passport to Teaching must hold a bachelor's degree in any subject area, pass a background check, pass an examination in teaching knowledge and an examination in the subject area they want to teach. Candidates are not required to take additional college courses in order to earn a teaching certificate. ABCTE offers Passport to Teaching certification in elementary education, special education, English, math, general science, biology, physics and chemistry.
