Phoenix Clothing Brand BLaZa Fashion Goes on the Block: Co-Founders Selling Trademarked Trade Name, Domain Name and Logo
Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) April 10, 2008 -- Thirty-somethings Ryan Neiwert and Boyce English, both based in Phoenix, who founded the clothing line BLaZa (pronounced like blasé- "blah-zay") in the late 1990s, are now entertaining bids for the brand's name, registered trademark, logo and the dot-com domain names Blaza.com and Blazafashion.com.
"When we started, we would hang out somewhere near our van with friends, all wearing BLaZa shirts, and people would come up and ask us where they could buy the shirts," recalls Neiwert. "We couldn't keep them in stock. We had plenty of enthusiasm and creative ideas, but no business plan and no capital to expand. Still, we hoped we could do it our way and turned away any thought of seeking investors."
As the years passed, Neiwert and English kept hatching schemes for growing the brand and maintained their affection for the logo. "I have a leather patch we were going to use for our denim jeans line sitting on my desk at home and look at it every day. The logo definitely has star quality - a strong, impressive presence," Neiwert says. But when Deric Thornton, a close friend of Neiwert and English who had encouraged the BLaZa founders, died in 2004, their plotting and planning began to lose steam.
While the BLaZa brand was envisioned as a chic clothing line for both men and women, Neiwert says it probably makes more sense now as a brand for women. "Marketing sophistication for women has many more options than would be available for men's clothing," he says. "In the right hands BLaZa can't help but become successful."
Entrepreneurs and fashion designers who wish to know more about purchasing the BLaZa brand can go to www.blazafashion.com to express their interest.
